Mosquito-eating Fish

May contain: aquatic, water, animal, and fish

Mosquitofish are not yet available for pick up. Please call in advance to confirm availability. These small fish consume large amounts of mosquito larvae and therefore act as a biological control on backyard mosquito populations. Mosquito fish thrive in ornamental ponds, abandoned swimming pools and other container-type bodies of fresh water. Because Gambusia affinis is an invasive species of fish that is not native to California, they are not to be planted in waters that can access rivers or other waters of the United States.

Please call the SCMAD to check the current availability of mosquito fish before you visit.
